Back in London and AW wishlist

So it turns out moving home, starting a new job and finding a place to live all during wedding season doesn't leave you with much spare time for blogging...

I feel like it's a poor excuse to be honest, some of the most successful bloggers out there are doing it at the same time as holding down a demanding full-time job - I have no idea how they do it but I have a lot of admiration for them.

I could blame my lack of blogging on lack of time but I think that truly, when you love something you always make time for it. It's all about priorities at the end of the day, same as trying to fit exercise into your day or catching up with your friends. I do love blogging, I don't know who I'm talking to (if anyone) but it is a release for me and I have missed it over the last few months. But the truth is moving back to the UK has been so much harder than I anticipated and I don't think I have really felt myself recently, which has left me with little motivation for much apart from the day-to-day.

However! I'm pleased to report that I finally feel a little like I'm getting my mojo back! So as we inch towards Autumn and lots of lovely new things in the shops, I figure why not (re) start with a few staples that I've got my eye on for the season ahead...

First up, this simple crew neck jumper from Warehouse. I love any basic that sits well and has the potential to be dressed up, and this jumper does just that. It has in fact already made it into my wardrobe so I can confirm that it lives up to expectations. It's a heavy knit which means it hangs beautifully; I want to wear it slightly oversized with ripped black skinnies, my old red wool Zara coat and a big sparkly necklace. Outfit post to come soon...

Along with leopard print, it seems like leather is becoming as staple as your most-loved pair of blue jeans at the moment. On the one hand it puts me off, but on the other hand...there's these coated bikers from hush...I want.

Best picks from AW14
hush coated biker jeans £79, Warehouse compact yarn crew jumper £48, Whistles felt fedora £60, & Other Stories buckle leather boots £145, Zara midi skirt £39, Whistles kumiko faux fur coat £275

Not 100% sure this skirt from Zara will suit my shape but in my head I am rockin' it with a soft black knit tucked in and some heeled, chunky, biker-esque ankle boots.

Which brings me to...a great pair of black ankle boots from & Other Stories which I have spied and definitely want to try on. If there are as good as they look online I reckon they will be perfect this winter as the height of the ankle looks like it will be great with either trousers or skirts (which isn't always easy to find!).

Last up is two favourites from the amazing new collection from Whistles (I could honestly take all of it). I wrote about fedoras in this post a while ago yet somehow I still haven't got round to making the purchase. However I think the gorgeous, deep inky colour of this one will be too hard for me to resist.

Then to top it off what better than some soft, cosy, faux fur which I feel is totally worth the money not only because it will actually keep me warm, but because a bit of fur will never fail to make you feel super glam (even if you're wearing runners and gym kit underneath). Plus this dusty lilac colour will go with everything

Let the shopping commence...
