Bomber love

If you'd asked me a few months ago what I thought of the bomber trend I would have been less than enthusiastic.

I remember seeing a picture of one of my favourite bloggers (and major girl crush), Laura Fantacci, who has impeccable style, wearing one and finding myself slightly confused. It went a little like this:

I don't think I like it.
But she's wearing it.
Good point, I should probably like it.
Argh but I just don't think I do!
But she's wearing it.
Ok, we'll muse on this for a while and come back to it.

Sure enough, fast forward a couple of months and I suddenly realise the desire to add a bomber jacket to my wardrobe has kind of snuck up on me and is now in full-on obsessive mode.

First I spotted a gorgeous Josh Goot printed one on a fellow blogger at an event I attended, then I found myself unwittingly drawn towards a beautiful black one in Country Road and the next moment I’m rushing running home to trawl back through Laura’s blog to try and find out where the one she was wearing was from. Fickle? Moi?

So now, obviously, I've become obsessed with finding the perfect bomber. Serves me right.

Whistles Harlow Varsity Bomber jacket - navy, Whistles Harlow Varsity Bomber jacket - pink, Country Road Quilted Bomber jacket, Sessun ewe jacket for Madewell, Topshop faux leather croc bomber jacket, Finders Keepers The Eclipse bomber
Here‘s my choice of what I've found so far plus some inspiration to (maybe) fuel your own obsession. I definitely prefer styles that are a heavier or thicker fabric to give a bit of structure and texture.

Matches also has a great selection and I've also been doing my usual scouting on pinterest for inspiration as well - check it out here.

Has a trend every crept up on after you'd rejected it as not for you?

  1. I love the jacket and I also love the trend!

    Cool blog :) xxx
