Back in London and AW wishlist

So it turns out moving home, starting a new job and finding a place to live all during wedding season doesn't leave you with much spare time for blogging...

Farewell to Melbourne

I've been pretty lax on the blogging front recently, I can promise it has definitely been on my mind but there has been a lot going on in my life recently and time has been particularly limited. The reason is both a sad and a happy one because after months (and I mean months) of deliberation, we finally decided to leave Melbourne and head back to London town (oh and I also got engaged and started a new job amongst other major, life changing events).

Last Aussie adventure

One of the many upsides to living abroad is the constant feeling that, despite the fact that you go to work every day like everyone else, you are on some king of never-ending holiday.  Which in turn completely justifies doing as much as you can, whenever you can, regardless of you whether you can really afford it. To me, that means travel. Whilst I haven’t done as much as I would necessarily have liked, I do feel like I've given it a pretty good go and have some amazing memories to boot.

Biking the Barossa

We had a long weekend a few of weeks ago here in Melbourne and as usual I was determined to make the most of it by ticking off another destination on our Australia ‘travel wishlist’ so we decided to head to the Barossa Valley in South Australia to indulge in some wine tasting and cheese eating.

Bomber love

If you'd asked me a few months ago what I thought of the bomber trend I would have been less than enthusiastic.

Leather, stripes, and a little bit of leopard

I did a spontaneous dash into Sportsgirl at the weekend and came out a very happy lady. Why is it when you're not really looking for anything you always find the best stuff? Then when you are desperate for the perfect outfit for the perfect event - nada.

The humble hat

If you've got the balls to pull off a great hat then I am envious. Hats have been the tipping point for many a sartorial outfit for decades; from the 40's cloche to the 70's flop and the 90's baseball cap - they've been around.

Back to basics

A lot of people consider simple to be the same thing as boring. I'm one to disagree with this because for me the simplest looks are often the ones that work the best. No fuss, no drama.

Let's get physical

I've been reading a lot about dairy/gluten/wheat free diaries in the past few weeks. I'm pretty healthy on the whole, sure there’s some overindulgence on the weekends and one glass inevitably turns into 2 or 3 when I meet up with the girls but in general I work fairly hard to look after myself. Despite that though I sometimes feel a little hard done by in terms of the ‘added extras’ I was under the impression came hand in hand with said healthy lifestyle – where’s my bright, shiny, I-don’t-need-any-make-up-skin’?

Dreamy denim

Summer has officially (and finally) arrived in Melbourne and this weekend we spent a lazy post-brunch Sunday wandering around our local neighbourhood soaking up some rays and exploring random little side streets. Pretty much what Melbourne is made for.

Goodbye 2013, hello 2014

As I'm sure you have all been muttering on repeat for the last few days, I can't quite believe we are into 2014. Even stranger is that I've now had my second Christmas and New Year in Australia, seriously-how time flies.
